Casey Stone was introduced to music at a very young age by her family through church and by her parents taking her to a Tanya Tucker concert. Mesmerized by Ms. Tucker’s charismatic stage presentation and vocal ability, Casey believed that she too, could be a singer and she immediately began learning the ropes.

Casey garnered talent contest wins (National Academy of Country Music Talent Contest – 1st Place), award nominations (“Newcomer of the Year” – Canadian Country Music Association; “Best Performance in a Television Variety Special” – ACTRA) and national airplay for her three singles, two of which were recorded in Nashville.

Casey continued to develop her talents through touring and recording and in 1995 she returned to Saskatchewan to showcase her other earlier influences such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles and Gordon Lightfoot by forming the edgy roots rock band “eva gold’. With Juno winners Brent Taylor and Hal Schrenk on guitar and drums, the solid grooves of Brett Schinbein on bass and Casey’s fiery intense vocal and stage performances, “eva gold” developed into a premier musical experience.

A stellar review of the band’s 2nd CD “traction” in “Canadian Musician” magazine’s “Showcase” took note of Stone’s “alluring vocal presence – alternately playing the country coquette…or the sexy power rock goddess”. Saskatoon’s “Star Phoenix” commented, “If you’re prospecting for a female singer who rocks hard and isn’t afraid to get down to it, stake a claim to Casey Stone.”

As well as advancing her performing and songwriting skills, Casey has steadily learned the business of music, from managing and booking, to marketing and promotion. Her devotion has paid off through a song placement in an American television episode of “Time of Your Life”, radio airplay, an expanded and loyal fan base and success through “eva gold’s” MP3.com Website (accessed through www.mp3.com/evagold ).

With “eva gold” disbanding in January 2001, Casey took a short break before reorganizing and regrouping. Back with a strong focus, a powerful and dynamic stage show, and a new CD due in the Spring of 2003, the band, simply called “Casey Stone” is reeling with excitement and energy.
