Introducing Canadian country
music artist, Amy Nelson… This singer, songwriter
and keyboard player from Regina, Saskatchewan has a
powerful voice and an infectious sense of fun. When
Nelson is on stage, you can expect to hear
contemporary country music by artists such as Terri
Clark, Sugarland and the Dixie Chicks as well as her
own original material.
Nelson has a degree in Music Education, majoring in
voice, from the University of Regina. She has been
educating herself in the many aspects of the music
industry. She is the secretary for the Regina Branch
of the Saskatchewan Country Music Association and
volunteers for Canadian Country Music Association
events. She is currently working with vocal coach
Anna Beaumont (Aaron Lines, Samantha King and Aaron
J. Goodvin), keyboard player/producer Craig Learmont
(MuzikHaus Records) and keyboard player Lorena Kelly
(Sask Music).
Nelson spent most of 2007 traveling through
Australia. She carried her guitar with her and
performed in local cafes, at outdoor markets, on
beautiful beaches, and in youth hostels. Since her
return home, her music career has taken off!
This summer (2008), Nelson was on stage throughout
Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. Every weekend
was booked with exciting venues, including the
Casino Regina Show Lounge, the Gateway Music
Festival and the CRAVEN COUNTRY JAMBOREE!
In the year ahead, Nelson will be on stage more and
more and continuing to train with her amazing music
mentors in Edmonton, Alberta. She will be spending
time in the studio recording, and will be co-writing
with some talented country songwriters. With a large
amount of success in a short amount of time, be sure
to book this talented artist before she is
headlining concert halls!
